Travel Notebook: Bangkok, Thailand

By  |  0 Comments
It was a perfect sunny day when we landed in Bangkok. As we headed out of the airport, we saw a petite lady, one hand up in the air waving at us, the other holding up a card with our names on it. Suree, her name was, introduced herself as she shook our hands and expressed genuine interest in how our flight to the Thai capital went.

And we could say it went well. Only six hours away from Dubai, Thailand warmly welcomes visitors to its capital with the fresh smell of flowers and attars at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, giving eager vacationists an immediate sampling of the Southeast Asian country’s array of holiday delights.

Read on as we explore the top seven places to visit while you’re in the city, so you can get an idea of what to expect if you’re a first-time holidaymaker in Bangkok.

Oasis Spa at Sukhumvit 31

Situated in the charismatic streets of Sukhumvit 31 and only thirty minutes away from the airport, Oasis Spa will freshen you up after a long airborne journey. To address our post-flight stress, we tried the signature spa treatment called The Voyage of Golden Lanna, a 90-minute massage that provides instant relaxation as it takes music therapy to a higher level. Conducted in a secluded room with waterfalls, a fancy, private outdoor shower and an ambience that coaxes your body into calmness and tranquility, the treatment is a delightful four-handed dance of twenty skilled fingers choreographed to a mentally revitalizing symphony.
