The beginning of May sees Loewe’s first store in Italy, a two-storey space of almost 300 square metres which will serve as Loewe’s flagship in the capital. The Rome boutique is a must-visit if you’re jetting off to cool down in the Mediterranean this Summer.

As befits Spain’s leading luxury brand, this new store is situated by the Spanish Steps in the Piazza di Spagna, the heart of Rome’s high-end fashion district.

The space has been designed by Peter Marino, the world’s leading architect in luxury retail. In keeping with the elegant yet warm aesthetic established by Marino in his previous Loewe projects, the store’s interior boasts smooth stucco walls in cool white and three rich shades of gold, with brass shelves in a colour-matched finish and curtains made of ‘Oro’ (golden) leather, Loewe’s signature material.

The ground floor measures 115 square metres and offers bags, small leather goods, silk scarves, belts and sunglasses for both men and women.

The first floor is a 170 square metre space with four vast windows commanding a stunning view of the Spanish Steps, it will house the changing rooms, the VIP room, the Loewe Leather Icons collection, the Amazona Atelier – which offers Loewe’s most iconic bag Made To Order – and the women’s ready to wear.

Loewe was established as a specialist in luxury leather goods in Madrid in 1846, and to this day uses the same time-honoured techniques and superior Spanish materials to create its products. Although the Piazza di Spagna store is Loewe’s first in Italy, it has been available for many years in the best multibrand stores.
