Milan Street Style: In abundance only on Via Montenapoleone
The four fashion capitals, especially Milan, have been a favourite location for street style photography. There are more photos on the Sartorialist et al to prove it than one can hope to argue.
It’s one of the few places where runway pieces find their way to the streets and that’s one of the reasons the style set holds these cities close to their hearts.
However, you would be surprised to find so few exciting and bold fashion choices once you get to the streets. There wasn’t much inspiration while we were there and it wasn’t as magical as we expected. Then we figured it out, style dominance is concentrated in very few spots within the city, and is sometimes also restricted by the duration of fashion week. The key to finding great taste is to know where – and when – to scout.

It’s a good thing fashion never sleeps on Via Montenapoleone, one of the four streets that form the Quadrilatero della Moda, Milan’s famous shopping square for all things designer. That’s where we discovered these brave soldiers of chicdom, going about their business and maintaining sartorial rule in all the land.
