Turkish design comes under the spotlight with Anjelique.me

There’s no denying that Turkey is one of those countries who have arrived – culturally speaking. Its capital city, Istanbul, has experienced a new and fresh pop culture dynamic of late and is currently the only city near this region to host a fashion week that’s even worth going to – sorry DFW.

So we’re delighted to hear that Turkish design is about to gain even more prominence among the style set here in the UAE as exciting labels like Belizz, Hubu, Ince Topuk, Inci Ozayan, Ozlem Tuna, Sempia, Tugrul Berge, and Nomadic State of Mind are brought into the region with the launch of new online fashion store Anjelique.me.

Inci Malik and Ebru Berge, the duo of Turkish entrepreneurs behind Anjelique.me, were inspired by this revival and wanted to create a shopping destination where customers can have the best of both worlds at their fingertips: Istanbul’s fashion-forward and eclectic design coupled with the best quality of materials and craftsmanship. The result is a shopping destination that offers customers an irresistible selection of hand crafted affordable luxury.

Inci describes the collections available in the online store as “everything women love; which is one of a kind, beautiful and individual fashion pieces that allow them to express themselves. I believe all fashionistas appreciate that.”

Ebru takes great pride in the high quality of the products, explaining that “every piece is made to perfection from the materials used to the level of craftsmanship, because that’s what we set out to offer – affordable hand crafted luxury.”

Hand-painted shoes, bags and jewellery and home decor are among first Turkish design collections to hit the virtual shelves at Anjelique.me, but we would love to see their offerings expand to include ready-to-wear fashion – there goes our suggestion to Inci and Ebru!
