Emilio Pucci for Guerlain’s Summer 2012 collection
The Italians and the French may seem to be always breathing down each other’s neck for supremacy in the world of luxury, but sometimes, the best way to approach things is through a cooperative endeavour to bring discerning customers the best both sides have to offer.
A case in point is the Guerlain x Emilio Pucci collaboration – a marriage of two luxury powers that no one would have thought possible – for the Parisian beauty and skincare brand’s Summer 2012 makeup collection. The Florentine casa della moda has teamed up with Guerlain to celebrate the colours of the season in grand European finesse.
The rich worlds of Emilio Pucci, whose cult prints have mesmerised fashion folk since the 50s, and Guerlain, whose status as the jewel of French cosmetics never seems to wane, combine in a collection of eleven products with accents of the Italian Riviera, created by Olivier Échaudemaison, Guerlain Creative Director, and Laudomia Pucci, Pucci Image Director.
So, which are the products to watch out for in this dreamy partnership? Summer’s couture powder, a redesigned version of Guerlain’s Terracotta powder, the Terra Azzura, takes centre stage in this collection. For a luminous complexion, the Météorites Perles D’Azur, multi-coloured little powder pearls, beautifully adapt your skin to the demands of the sun. Exciting eye shadow palettes, mascaras, lip gloss shades and nail polishes meanwhile complete this must-have collection.
