VIDEO: Marni next up in list of H&M designer collaborateurs
It’s only been two weeks after the global release of the hotly anticipated Versace for H&M collection but the Swedish high-street brand is already gearing up for another designer project, and this time it’s going to be with Italian fashion label Marni.
On the upcoming capsule collection, Marni Founder and Creative Director Consuelo Castiglioni said, “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements.”
H&M deserves to be commended for the path they are taking, collaborating with brands that the fashion obsessed truly admire and leaving the masstige (mass + prestige) brands to do their own thing, perhaps with the exception of Versace, which, even though it produced a lovely collection, kind of sticks out like a sore thumb if you look at the list of other names with whom the retail powerhouse has collaborated in the past.
The Marni for H&M capsule collection will be available in stores from March 8, 2012, coinciding with the Spring/Summer 2012 fashion season.
