Where to stay in Berlin: The Ritz-Carlton Hotel

The journey fronm Tegel airport to the city proper was a slow transformation from the laid-back countryside to a bustling metropolis.

There was no denying our excitement to finally set foot in the birthland of fashion stars Karl Lagerfeld and Heidi Klum, and there was no hiding our amazement as we arrived at what would be our chic home in the German capital, The Ritz Carlton Berlin.

As the helpful and perky doorman welcomed us, we knew we were our stay would be one of the highlights of our Berlin trip. Opulence embraced us further when we were asked to come up to the tenth floor, where the exclusive Club Lounge was, for a private check in. After marvelling at the classic modernity of the ambience in the lounge and getting ourselves a glass of bubbly, we then decided to take a peek at our room.

Beautiful would be a shamefully simple way to describe our room. Aside from the inviting pristine bed, overflowing mini bar, heavenly bathroom (we know a few people who judge a place by its bathroom), complete business amenities and overall charm of the signature Ritz bedroom, the hotel also offers a stunning view of Potsdamer Platz and the Sony Center, the best city view one could get of Berlin. With this room, we were tempted to stay indoors the whole time and just savor the wonderful experience that beset us.

Yet, we knew we did not travel miles away from Dubai to simply enjoy one of the most amazing hotels that we’ve stepped into. So when time came for us to start moving, we decided first to take a short tour around The Ritz.

Needless to say, our two nights and three days at The Ritz would be the highlight of our trip to Berlin. From the professional and friendly crew to its stunning rooms, excellent Club Lounge and sumptuous breakfast buffet serving at The Curtain Club, The Ritz made our first trip to this German city an utterly unforgettable experience.

Tips to having chic Berlin trip:

  • While at The Ritz, treat yourself to a warm bubble bath. For 45 euros, you’ll get a bath butler who’ll fix up your bath, complete with cute rubber ducks, petals and a bowl of gummy bears.
  • Socialize while enjoying the unlimited bubbly at The Ritz Club Lounge. Aside from the bottomless drinks, light snacks plus breakfast, lunch and dinner presentations, the Club Lounge is the perfect venue to interact with fello Ritz guests
  • A few blocks from The Ritz is the Grand Hyatt Berlin where you can get a totally relaxing and equally pampering signature facial in its spa and wellness center Club Olympus. The facial using Dr. Ren products will render your skin picture-perfect for all your photo ops throughout the trip.
  • Dine al fresco at the posh Vox Restaurant, also found at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The restaurant offers the best nigiri and sushi you’ll ever have and they make a mean apple martini. Don’t forget to ask for their crab soup and delectable steaks!
