Munich Street Style: Home of the fashion elders

By  |  0 Comments

Who would have thought that there would be so many stylish people in Munich? And by stylish we mean really, literally stylish. Not kind where you have to stare – or overcome the shock value first, as we did with Berliners’ guerilla fashion – to see it.

The seemingly quiet capital of Bavaria gave us a mighty sartorial surprise when we went out of our lovely accommodations – The Charles Hotel by Rocco Forte on Sophienstraße near Hauptbanhof Central and The Westin Grand Munich in Arabellapark – and went to the shopping district of the city: Maximilianstraße and the nearby streets around the Munich Residence.

Due to the relative quiet of Munich, we initially thought we would go home empty-handed, but as we hopped off the train and ascended from the U-bahn we noticed an immediate change of pace. Odeonsplatz was busier, more lively and gave us the impression that something was happening around the place – a welcome indication for us whose job that day was to snap a few styles.

Our conclusion of Munich’s fashions and people matched those of Germans who’ve seen the city in action. Munich, being the most prosperous city in the country, is the Teutons’ take on upscale. From the shops to the shoppers, the surrounding high-end air made us feel at home. And who knew Residenzstraße and Maximilianstraße were the Mecca of fashion elders? Check out the gallery above and see advanced styles from sophisticated senior Müncheners.

Where to stay: Want to get away from it all and have a quiet, rejuvenating experience with yourself or a special someone? The Westin Grand Munich in Arabellapark offers a luxurious getaway from the strenuous activities of daily life in the city.

But for those who prefer exclusive attention and inimitable luxury from check in to check out, coupled with a premium location that right’s within the city but still close enough to greenery, The Charles Hotel Munich right by Hauptbanhof Central station, part of the renowned Rocco Forte collection of boutique hotels, is second to none.
