VIDEO: Daphne Guinness stars in artsy short film, ‘Daphne’s Window’
Heiress to the Irish brewery fortune Daphne Guinness is the subject of a recently unveiled artsy documentary titled Daphne’s Window by Brennan Stasiewicz.
The film shows intimate footage of the fashion icon at her Fifth Avenue apartment and her preparations for her buzz-generating live installation at Barney’s last month. “She appears to me as someone always in a window,” says Stasiewicz. “Someone you can approach and see, but you remain on the other side.”
The most interesting part of it all? Daphne thinks she’s normal. “When people label me ‘eccentric’ or ‘different,’ I’m kind of astonished, because I think this is completely normal. This is just how I am, and how I’ve always been. And that’s why I gravitated towards people that were as shy as I was, and we all sort of huddled together, like on a raft,” Guinness said.
Daphne, we’d be hard-pressed to find someone who is quite as normal and shy as you.
