Label to watch: Loriblu’s F/W 2011 range is all about the Trojan Horse
Christian Louboutin may be the go-to brand for any aspiring shoe collector, and rightfully so, but where does one go from there? Loubi’s been hogging the limelight for the past couple years and we feel it’s important that we keep expanding our brand vocabulary.
Italian footwear label Loriblu may not have the same exotic ring to its name as Jimmy Choo or Charlotte Olympia, but it deserves to be on any fashionista’s shoe shopping list. It’s a company that’s existed for much longer than most buzzed-about shoemakers today. We don’t normally equate longevity to quality, but it goes without saying, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’re not going to last half as long in the fashion business.
With styles for varying fashion characters, from gothic biker to gender-neutral urbanite to sophisticated mademoiselle, Loriblu’s Fall/Winter 2011 look book uses exaggerated design elements, intricate details and sheer height to command attention. Our favourites from the upcoming season’s collection include what we call Trojan Horse heels and a pair of Baroque-inspired equestrian boots.
Loriblu is available in Dubai at Mall of the Emirates and a soon to open flagship store in Doha.
