Gisele Bundchen to become world’s first billionaire model
Being the world’s highest paid supermodel, it’s not hard to believe that Gisele Bundchen is set to become the world’s first billionaire model and probably the richest one of them all, Forbes predicts.
Bundchen’s keen business sense has allowed her capitalise on her clout for other projects which have generated more income for the Brazilian beauty. On top of her modelling campaigns for brands that range from fast-fashion H&M to high fashion Christian Dior, Gisele has time and again used her supermodel status to embark on profitable enterprises.
These include a collaboration with Brazilian footwear company Grendene, an Arizona-based eco-conscious cosmetics company, a paid job as creative director for C&A’s Gisele Bundchen Collection, as well as real estate ventures, which includes a hotel in her home country as a $20 million dream house in California.
Bunchen is also set to tap into the Brazilian and global lingerie market with her own line through a joint venture with Hope, Brazil’s version of Victoria’s Secret. Forbes expects this latest business to be Bunchen’s biggest moneymaker yet, probably only second to her professional modelling career.
From a stereotypical reputation of coke-snorting, live-in-the-moment professional party-goers, models surely have gotten smart over the years. If you’ve always wanted to become a model but have been discouraged by people who insist it’s an unstable income, send them a link to Gisele Bundchen’s wiki.
