Moschino Cheap and Chic Pre-Fall 2011 show at Bloomingdale’s Dubai
Moschino’s diffusion line for women Moschino Cheap and Chic staged a showcase of the label’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection at Bloomingdale’s Dubai earlier this week, welcoming the city’s style set to an evening of glamourous guests and covetable fashion.
The Pre-Fall 2011 line focuses on the essence of the Moschino Cheap and Chic customer – a lady who wears her heart on her sleeve… or her hip in the case of creative director Rossella Jardini’s new line. A silk shift dress had an oversized heart placed off-centre to one side for a bit of whimsy, and the iconic heart also comes in an abstract interlocking print on a sweet shirtdress.
A couple roses turned a simple red dress into a romantic piece of self-expression. A stunning coat in an arrestingly fiery scarlet transformed into an artifact of femininity with the addition of a ribbon collar.
Librarian chic continued to hack its way into mainstream fashion as elegant bows, rough unfinished tweet jackets, and buttoned-up granny shirts with abstract prints collided. Factor in the new obsession with coloured tights worn with skirts and innocent, ruffle-detailed flats, and you’ve got the fashionisation* of America Ferrera’s Ugly Betty.
