Check your to-do list next Saturday, May 21st. Are you doing anything worthwhile? Would you care to put down “spend a glamorous evening while doing some charity work” as an additional item on your schedule?

Fashion My Community is seeking to raise funds for The Senses Residential Care Home for Children with Special Needs with the help of Dubai’s fashion pack – designers, homegrown and international brands, fashion bloggers and magazines – and they are inviting you to pitch in, meet some fabulous people and support a good cause.

Scheduled on May 21, 2011, Fashion My Community will feature the designs of five up and coming designers, as well as one or more students from the prestigious Esmod fashion school in Dubai, all of whom have been tipped as future names to watch out for.

Up to 10 collections will be showcased to an already packed list of 400 guests, with prizes worth AED 10,000 awaiting lucky winners and a goodie bag worth AED 300 for every confirmed attendee.

All the costs associated with Fashion my Community, will be covered by sponsorship and all proceeds will go directly to The Senses Residential Care Home for Children with Special Needs. All funds will purchase a hydrotherapy machine which is desperately needed by the school to treat 80 per cent of the children who have moderate to severe physical disabilities there. The home is the first non-profit, specialised residential centre for children in Dubai offering unparalleled care for kids with special needs.

Tickets are available for AED 150 on TimeOut Dubai.
