ICONIC features 70’s styles and cravats for SS2011
ICONIC, Landmark Group’s slightly upmarket fashion and lifestyle boutique, welcomed the new season with its traditional bi-annual fashion show held inside its Deira City Centre shop last week.
Featuring the latest SS2011 collections from labels stocked within the ICONIC store, the show is painted a sartorial portrait that reflects both current Spring/Summer trends and ghosts of seasons past. Vivid colours, polka dots, retro hair buns, 70’s-inspired accessories, and gender boundary-blurring women’s suits and suit frocks took center stage.
Menswear, meanwhile, received a welcome update with the reintroduction of the gentlemanly cravat. Some of looks also incorporated cropped pants for men, which haven’t been fashionable since Winter 2010, around the time Alber Elbaz did a collection for H&M. We hope the boutique’s stylists would take note of that.
