Kate Moss stars in Faraway, the latest film by Longchamp
It’s official. What used to be an exercise in digital creativity is now a legitimate method for launching advertising campaigns. We’ve just heard that the amazing Kate Moss for Longchamp collection will be supported by a cinematographic ad campaign, featuring an intimate short film called Faraway, starring who else but Kate Moss.
Faraway, which is also the name of the Kate Moss for Longchamp Spring/Summer 2011 collection, is inspired by Moss’s travels.
Kate will be seen strolling in different locations in Marrakech, wearing different bags from her collection including the Gloucester duffel bag in earth tones and the colourful Peruvian basket bag while the languorous voice of Nancy Sinatra echoes in the background. The film director Alasdair McLellan filmed Kate in the spirit of “super 8” films.
Kate Moss, the iconic face of Longchamp for several seasons, has translated her personality and sense of style into a cutting-edge collection of bags. The third Kate Moss for Longchamp collection for Spring 2011 will be available from March in Longchamp boutiques, on www.longchamp.com and in a selection of other stores.
10- and 50-second trailers will be leaked prior to the full release of the film to build up some online buzz. The film itself will begin its journey on the digital superhighway on Monday, March 7th, via the dedicated website: http://www.longchamp.com/faraway.
Are you more likely to buy her goods once you see the supermodel running around in exotic locales, toting her co-designed bags? For us, movie or no movie, we adore the latest collection by Kate Moss for Longchamp and we’re one of the many people who’ll be lining up in front of the boutiques the day it touches down in the UAE.
