Alberta Ferretti streams live from Pitti Uomo in Florence
Get ready for the first fashion show live stream of 2011, people. Italian fashion designer Alberta Ferretti is set to officially open the 79th edition of Pitti Uomo with a special showcase of 30 dresses created exclusively for this event, and we’re bringing the show all the way from Firenze (Florence) straight to your computer screens, in real time.
At 11pm tonight, January 11, 2011, the stream from the opening show will go live and La Moda has been selected as one of the few online fashion magazines (yup, we’re in the same league as Italian Vogue now) in the world to deliver the much-awaited fashion event to their readers. Alberta Ferretti, together with the AEFFE group, has decided to celebrate the exceptional nature of this occasion with a donation to the Jordan River Foundation, a charitable organisation sponsored by Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan who supports emancipation of women.
Celebrities, actresses, top models, socialites and athletes, many of whom are connected to important humanitarian causes, (Camille Belle, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Marisa Berenson and Georgie Henley to name a few) will be on the catwalk. Italian singer-songwriter Elisa will provide a magical, musical backdrop by playing an acoustic version of some of the tracks of her new album “Ivy”.
