What we love about H&M’s Party 2010
The lookbook for H&M’s Party 2010 collection has just arrived in the mail and as we pored over the photos, we just couldn’t resist picking out our favourites and adding them one by one to our Christmas shopping list. The line is very on-trend, with animal print, gold details, lace and the classic women’s blazer dominating the style DNA of the collection.
It’s safe to say that the highlight of H&M Party 2010 is the bubbly floral range for tots – it’s like Valentino for kids. We just love the intricately-detailed rose dress and the tiny fur jacket that’s been modified to resemble a pink flowerbed, finished off with gold rose button that also serves as a pretty brooch. And for babies, there’s a tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit, for those occasions which call for a sharp dress code. Kids couldn’t ask for more style than this.
Some of the women’s pieces also deserve a special mention. They may not be designed by Alber Elbaz, but H&M’s in-house designers prove they have abundant talent on their own when it comes to creating show-stopping party frocks. A couple pieces from the men’s range also caught our eye. Who wouldn’t want a lush-looking velour jacket and cognac overnighter that don’t come with seizure-inducing price tags?
