Kate Middleton’s REISS dress to be re-released next season
Fans of Kate Middleton need not splurge thousands of dollars on eBay just to get their hands on a probably used, last-season ruffle-front cream dress by REISS. It turns out the British high-street brand has decided to re-release the dress by as early as January 2011 as part of its Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
Yup, just wait roughly a month and you won’t have to endure the shame of wearing somebody else’s pre-worn dress in order to imitate Kate Middleton’s sartorial refinement.
Since the official engagement photos of the royal couple, shot by legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino went public this week, everyone’s been talking about where to buy the off-season mid-priced frock. So REISS acted on popular demand and they’re bound to make a fortune out of the elegant dress’ newfound regal status.
In the past, Ms. Middleton’s commanding fashion clout has proved a highly effective marketing tool for fashion designers, helping most things she wears in public become instant bestsellers and the brands turn into household names overnight.
The £399 royal blue Issa London dress, designed by Brazilian fashion talent Daniella Helayel, which Ms. Middleton wore at the engagement announcement, sold out in 24 hours and created a flurry of countless imitations.
