Sass & Bide: Jumpsuits that work
Jumpsuits? We generally don’t like them because they are very hard to pull off. For every thousand fashionista wannabes who take the risk of donning a jumpsuit, only one succeeds. The rest end up looking like bizarre, mutated hamsters who have managed to grow human heads in some hilarious stroke of mammalian evolution.
So as a rule of thumb, we advise everyone to avoid them like the plague.
But it appears Australian label Sass & Bide has created a few jumpsuit numbers that can quite make the cut. Hot off London Fashion Week where attendees witnessed their SS2011 showcase, Sass & Bide sent walking mannequins down the runway in tres chic jumpsuits infused with the house’s signature over-the-top but ultra-wearable aura. Looking at these models below, going out in public in a stylish jumpsuit doesn’t sound so bad.
Feeling like a sassy vixen on a Thursday night out? Go with the black cut-out bustier jumpsuit with contrasting metallic belt. Daring fashionista? Shout out with ruffles in toned-down black and white. In love with true-blue alternative charisma? Send out a subversive message and go militant with the dark gray asymmetrical suit with femme fatale studded detailing on the right shoulder.
One thing that we recommend Dubai fashionistas do is go crazy over these jumpsuits. You never know when another designer would get something so controversial so right again.
