If you’re one of our Twitter followers or Facebook fans, you must have learned from our social media updates on Saturday evening that the Dubai Ladies Club charity sale event was a runaway success, having raised an estimated AED 60,000 for the benefit of the Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable Humanitarian Foundation.

Marking the second edition of the annual Donate Your Bag campaign, the authenticated, pre-loved designer stock was completely sold out within the first 15 to 20 minutes of opening to over 100 excited shoppers on Saturday, August 28. Latecomers, including ourselves, had to leave empty-handed due to the unexpectedly massive turnout and the sheer enthusiasm that infected all attendees. The successful fundraising was fueled by the sale of over 100 pre-owned luxury bags and accessories from a variety of upscale brands, including Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Gucci, Fendi, Dior, Chanel, Burberry and many others.

Muna bin Kalli, Executive Director of the Dubai Ladies Club said, “We have managed to achieve remarkable success for our charity campaign, thanks to the support of our corporate partners and most of all because of the participation of ladies from the community. Our supporters came forward to donate their gently-used designer bags and accessories for the final charity sale which was well attended by other women from the community, who purchased these donated items to benefit the Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable Humanitarian Foundation.”

The Dubai Ladies Club is keen to continue to launch programs and initiatives aimed at uniting various community groups, benefiting those in need, and spreading the spirit of solidarity in these economically tough times.

Congratulations to everyone from the Dubai Ladies Club and their supporter DAS Collection for staging a wonderful charitable event. We’ll see you next year for the third installment of DYB!
