Beauty for breast cancer awareness

By  |  0 Comments

This October, Breast Cancer Awareness month is set to take off with a slew of activities and charitable initiatives to provide financial support to ongoing research on the disease as well as to recovering women across the globe.

Over the years, breast cancer has become a serious health concern for women. One out of every eight women will develop it over the course of her life, with a new diagnosis occurring every three minutes in the United States.

What have you done to do your bit? You don’t have to run a marathon or sweat it out helping build houses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Sometimes, all you have to do is get some beauty products for yourself, family or friends. Here are a few products that can help you stay beautiful inside out while doing your part for our less fortunate sisters suffering from breast cancer.

1.) Dr. Dennis Gross All-in-One Facial Cleanser with Toner. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare has partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation and is set to donate five percent of profits from the sales of the product to the foundation.

The initiative will support in providing mammogram procedures for those in need and funding for research to find a cure for breast cancer.

The cleanser is a three-in-one multi-tasking beauty product that cleanses, tones and removes makeup. Containing natural witch hazel, chamomile, hyaluronic acid and Vitamins A, C and E, it restores the skin and removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural protective oils.

A gentle wash leaves skin fresh, clean and balanced. Dr. Gross has boosted the performance of the cleanser by incorporating additional antioxidants and botanical elements into the formula.

Each 12-fl.oz. bottle has a suggested retail price of AED 247. That means AED 12 of your money goes to charity, and that’s not something negligible because really, every fil counts.

2.) Everyday Beauty Essentials by Elemis. Last month, we already reported on the Sparkling Beauty Collection one of Elemis’ offerings that is specifically released on the occasion of the Breast Cancer Awareness month. The award-winning British beauty company, however, has released another line of charity-supporting products in partnership with Mothers4Children, a community of women whose combined mission is to better the lives of all children.

The Everyday Beauty Essentials collection contains Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt, Skin Nourishing Milk Bath, Maximum Moisture Day Cream, Skin Nourishing Shower Cream, Skin Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion, and S.O.S Emergency Cream neatly packed in a luxurious travel bag for dazzling beauty on the go.

The beauty kit will retail at AED 362, offering instant savings of up to 63% compared to buying these grooming essentials individually. Would you look at that? Turns out, helping out and paying forward don’t have to take much out of your daily schedule.
