Mall of the Emirates to open Fashion Dome
Who doesn’t love Mall of the Emirates? We think it is shopping heaven, but for the past few months, every time we came by, we dreaded all the construction work going on. It’s time to forgive them for the inconvenience, though, because apparently the mall was just cooking up a big surprise.
Come September, shopaholics – like us – will have another reason to strut their way to Barsha and visit the Mall of the Emirates. MoE is finally opening Fashion Dome, a dedicated wing to house around 40 luxury stores and F&B shops set in Italian Piazza style, with a two-storey hand-carved stone fountain and the mall’s signature glass dome.
Aside from a picturesque shopping experience, the new 10,500 square metre fashion arena is going to be filled with fashion favorites including Christian Louboutin, Cartier, Canali, Boutique 1, Paul Smith, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Galliano, Versace, See by Chloe, Bottega Venetta, Mulberry, Missoni, Diane von Furstenberg, Sephora and the largest D&G boutique in the region.
Better yet, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Gucci, which are already present at the mall, will expand to bigger premises within the new Fashion Dome. Now, we’re imagining the beautiful windows and the spacious shops, giving more room to additional collections.
It appears MoE wants to go head to head with The Dubai Mall’s world-famous Fashion Avenue, the last remaining place of sartorial tranquility on the face of the earth, with their Fashion Dome. How is it going to fare against a shopping ecosystem as big and glamorous as TDM’s offering? Does it stand a chance? We’re going to have to wait and see, but we can safely say that novelty is going to do very little to change our love for Fashion Avenue.
Does MoE’s new offering stand a change against Dubai’s shopping heaven Fashion Avenue?
We hate to admit it, but Fashion Dome – the finished product – looks like it’s going to make all the construction hassles at the Mall of the Emirates truly worth it. We hope to be among the first ones to set foot in this place. Invites please!
