Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011 Collection

Oscar de la Renta recently showed its Resort 2011 collection in New York which was matched with a live stream that gave everyone the opportunity to witness the runway magic as it happened (we even saw Anna and her humongous shades on the front row).

We literally have no words, other than if you know Oscar de la Renta and his genius for creating pieces imbued with class, elegance, and a dash and more of femininity, then you would be pleased to see that this collection continues just that. And raises the bar on some of the pieces if you ask us.

Textures, ruffles and prints in jackets, skirts, and dresses. Perfect for that ever popular afternoon tea. Also, it looks like 2011 is going to push the boundaries of vivid colours, abstract prints, odd drapes and exaggerated bows. Yep, the elements of fashion that we used to make fun of when we were kids are still registering on the style radar. This collection kind of makes us feel guilty about the people whose dresses we ridiculed back in the day.

ODLR’s Resort 2011 collection is also hinting at you to spice up your closet with edgy interpretations of the classic LBD. Notice the cropped ball gown effect from the waist down on the first two LBDs. These can be your saviour if you’re lacking a few pounds in the hip area. It’s funny if you think about it, because it’s as if these LBDs are attempting to create an illusion of curves for slim women. Ironic, no?
