Net-a-porter announces menswear e-shop

The Net-a-porter group celebrates its tenth-year anniversary today and unlike most companies that go out with an announcement saying “Hey, look at us, we’re 10 years old and 10 years strong!” they give us something worth telling you about.

The group has just unveiled its dedicated menswear shopping site – Mr. Porter – which is touted as the first global shopping destination of its kind.

Mr. Porter will launch for the Spring/Summer 2011 season in January 2011 and will offer an edited product selection of the best in men’s style, from global designer labels to niche specialist brands alongside original editorial and style advice. Yup, exactly like Net-a-porter, the new retail site is going to have its own magazine, which we might be more excited about than the clothes themselves.

By the start of next year, shoppers can feast on over 60 lust-worthy brands including Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Lanvin, YSL, Margiela, Balmain, Dunhill, Margaret Howell, Rick Owens, John Lobb and MR by the designer Roland Mouret.

Anyone who wants to be among the first shoppers on the site can sign up to receive notifications from Mr. Porter. Might we suggest discount vouchers to get the ball rolling? Because unlike women, most men need an incentive to go shopping. Please take a note of that, Mr. Porter people. And please start working on a menswear version of theOutnet.com as well!
