Proving our point: Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Best Dressed 2010

By  |  4 Comments

We were browsing the pages of the latest issues of all Middle East fashion magazines we’re subscribed to this morning and something caught our eyes like a mutilated corpse – something so horrible, but that which we couldn’t resist looking at.

It’s something in the editor’s letter in Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s Best Dressed 2010 supplement.

Did you get to spot what’s wrong yet? Fine, we’re nitpicking. But really, how easy could it have been to miss something that screams “Typo!”? Had it been a digital magazine, we wouldn’t have seen “across” spelled with such affectation.

Another piece of evidence that print is dead – Ingie Chalhoub got included by accident and is listed as French…even though she would love to be, she can’t even speak French properly.

Lost a lot of respect for the magazine after I saw some of the people on that list.. “tacky” would be an understatement. Very disappointing. And there are no excuses for that typo either.

I wonder if Harpers Bazaar is now all about Louise Foster and her looks. Maybe she should be hunting out for modeling jobs as being an Editor-in-chief should really be about the magazine, not the editor.. and oh, with a typo!

I thought the some of the women in the “Best Dressed” issue of HBA were inappropriately styled for their age, but Jelena looked FAB! And question? How can you pick the best dressed for 2010, when we are only four month’s in the year? Just asking.
